Other HE Sites

Below is a list of links to other Home Education and Home Educators' own sites. At the bottom of the page are links to organisations.

www.homeed.cjb.net

A very comprehensive and useful site. A Home-Educating family from the UK, now living in Cyprus. Also contains interesting parenting insights.

www.muddlepuddle.co.uk

A site catering more for people with younger HE children with lots of  resources, links, games, ideas, educational philosophies etc. Also organises an HE camp.

Free Range Education

A useful site with legal advice, resources, news and events and further links.

Home Education UK

Over 110 pages of independent support, the official home of the Home Education Webring

Learning Unlimited

A new site concerning Home Education in Europe.  Currently a work in progress.

Chris Stibbards

Primarily, though not exclusively, intended for UK home educators, this page has been described as a cornucopia of home education web links.

Wendy-Jayne's Site

Read Wendy-Jayne's personal story. Another personal site containing further useful links.

Choice In Education

C in E is an independent monthly magazine for home educators which rivals any in Britain. The magazine takes on hard hitting issues in HE such as, in July 2002, criticisms of 'autonomous' education. C in E also has a monthly page about HE in other European countries and further a field. It has helped form the new organisation Learning Unlimited - a support group for HE'ers over Europe.
It costs £10 for 12 issues which is great value!
C in E is also a website for HE . C in E pioneered the truancy information cards and the Elective Legal Guidelines for HE'ers. It has an extensive local listing in print and on the web.

Home Education UK Webring

A webring containing many other uk Home Education sites

Organisations

ARCH

Action on Rights for Children - in Education

ARCH is a large and growing network of people committed to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It supports the rights of children to have their views on educational issues which affect them considered within the family, within schools and at national level in future planning and decision-making.

Education Otherwise

There has been some confusion over Education Otherwise, some LEAs use the term in correspondence when talking about Sec7 of the education act. You do not need to become a member to home educate but many find their advice useful.
